Meteorite is a name given to a meteor that has fallen to earth whereas, comet is a mass of ice and dust with a long tail, moving around the solar system.

Meteor are the debris or large chunks of stone floating in the space when they come to earth they are attracted by the earth due to its gravitational force these particles enter earth atmosphere. However they are burnt in the atmosphere thus creating a trail of fire which we see and call as meteorite
While comets are larger celestial bodies that revolve around the sun but they are not as large as any palnet. Ex helies comet revolves around sun
