what is the difference between a simple cell and electrolytic cell

In a simple cell (dry cell) potential is generated by graphite, lead, etc like dry chemicals and elements whereas in electrolytic cells potential is generated by salt solution of various metals.

Simple cell is based on chemical reactions but electrolytic cell based on electrolytic process
