true rib is attached to the sternum whereas the floating rib is not attached to the sternum.

True rib is one which attaches to vertebral column on both ends while floating ribs are those in which one remains unattached to the vertebral column( 11 and 12th pairs)
I mean... floating ribs r those in which one end of the rib ....
