Apparent sunset is when we see the sun go below the horizon

It is about two minutes after the original sunset and happens as our eyes cannot see the refraction of light and assume that light travels in a straight line

Original sunset occurs two minutes before the apparent sunset . We cannot see the original sunset as its rays follow a refracted path to reach earth and has a curved path

This is the actual time when sun goes under the horizon
