Acyclic compounds :

When the compounds contain open chains of carbon atoms, they are termed as Acyclic compounds or open chain compounds.

They can be straight chain and branched chain as well.

for examples : Methane  CH_{4}, ethane CH_{3}CH_{3}, propaneCH_{3}CH_{2}CH_{3} , etc..

Aromatic Compounds :

Compounds which possess one or more rings made up of  carbon or we can say them as benzene rings .

Thus we say, when a compound contain one or more benzene ring in its structure it is termed as Aromatic compound.

for example : benzene , toluene, Napthalene etc..

Answer:

Explanation:

Alicyclic Compounds :-

  • Alicyclic compounds refer to aliphatic compounds that is saturated or unsaturated in which some of the carbon atoms are in a ring formation but may not be a benzenoid or other aromatic system.
  • Alicyclic compounds are polar.
  • Examples : ethane , butane , iso butane etc.

Aromatic compounds :-

  • The aromatic compounds are also known as arenes. Most of the aromatic compounds contain benzene. The benzene is an unsaturated structure.
  • Aromatic compounds are non-polar.
  • Example : benzene , Napthalene etc.
