The difference between base and alkali are that base are substance that react with acids and neutralise them.they are usually metal,hydroxide etc ... If the base does not dissolved in water then we can call alkali
and alkali is a basic solution/compound usually one or two metals atom bonded with oxygen atom to make oxides....
