Vladdimar Lenin who led the Bolshevik group thought that in a repressive society like Tsarist Russia, the party should be disciplined and should control the number and quality of its members.

On the other hand Mensheviks thought that the party should be open to all as in Germany...

bolshevik leader was lenin and after lenin, stalin became leader.this party want a quality of people and very few people in their group.

                                                   whereas

mensheviks leader was alexander kerenskii . this party was open to all and members and leader of this party was part of bolsheviks earlier.
