An egg laying poultry is called egger orlayer whereas broilers are reared for obtaining meat. So a layer should be able to produce more number of large sized eggs, without growing too much. On the other hand, a broiler should yield more meat and hence should be able to grow well.

The egg laying poultry bird is called layer.
The poultry bird groomed for meat is called broilers. The ration and daily need requirements for broiler is protein rich with adequate fat. The level of vitamin A and K is kept high. Layer need food which is low in protein and layers need proper space and lightning
