So, I think, you meant the diff. between Combustion and Burning or Combustible and Flammable.

the substances which vapourise during burning, gives flames....in these generally no ash is left behind.these have small amount of energy
ex.flame of candle
whereas in combustion there is some ash is left behind.these have large amount of energy ex. as on burning wood we get ash always.
