Power is basically the rate of change of energy of a system per unit time. 
In a circuit, it depends on which circuit element you are talking about. However, fundamentally, if u know the power, u can find out the  Energy for a given time interval. For eg, if a bulb is rated to have 20 W power, then in 2 seconds it uses 20W times 2 seconds ,I.e., 40 Joules of energy. Definitions remain the same, u only describe these quantities as per the particular function of a circuit element for eg, a battery either provides or stores energy, resistor dissipates energy, etc. Power is the time rate at which these functions are being carried out.

A watt equals a joule per second. If a smart phone uses five joules of energy every second, then the power of the phone is five joules per second, or five watts.
