what is the difference between F1 generation and F2 generation?.

The first generation of the offspring is known as first filial generation(F1)
The second generation of the offspring is known as second filial generation(F2)
Filial generation means a cross between offsprings

F1 stands for the first filial generation that was obtained on cross pollinating the parent plants. F2stands for the second filial generationthat is obtained by self pollinating theF1 generation plants.
