Answer:
A food web consists of many food chains.
A food chain only follows just one path as animals find food. eg: A hawk eats a snake, which has eaten a frog, which has eaten a grasshopper, which has eaten grass.
A food web shows the many different paths plants and animals are connected.

The food chain is the process that involves energy transfer from producer by a series of organisms with continual consumption or being consumed whereas the food web is a unified network of systems at different trophic levels.
Explanation:
- The food chain increases the uncertainty in the ecosystem, due to the increase in distinct food chains, whereas food web stability to the ecosystem.
- In the food chain, there is no alternative path of food availability, however, the food web has an alternative path.
- A food chain proceeds in a straight manner, whereas a food web is not.
- The complete chain will be affected if a single group of organisms gets disturbed, but this is not the case in the food web.
- It remains the same even if a group of organisms got removed.
