2. Saline water contains salt, other than water, but pure water contains only water.

3. Saline water is usually germless because of the presence of salt but pure water may contain germs.

4. Saline water has higher boiling point and lower melting point than pure water.

5. Water potential of saline water is less (negative) than pure water ( Water potential of pure water is zero).
