Inertia: The terminal force after the acceleration and motion of the object is stopped. Which by definition, the inability of the body to change its state of motion.
Friction: It is again force and work done. Inertia may be due to friction. Friction is normally an opposite force introduced by the medium in which the object travels or moves. For example, friction due to air, water and so on.
