Difference between gravity and gravitational force :

Gravitational Force :-

  • It is considered as universal force, whose value cannot be changed.
  • It is a weak force as compared to gravity.
  • Formula for this force = ( G×m1×m2 ) / R² , where G is considered as gravitational constant.
  • The radiul direction, derived from the masses is considered as the direction of the gravitational force.
  • When the seperation between the respected bodies is considered infinity, then the force can be called 0.
  • Two masses are required for the gravitational force.

Gravity :

  • It cannot be called a universal force, since it's value changes from place to place.
  • It is a strong force as compared to the gravitational force.
  • Formula for calculating Gravity, F = mg , where g is considered as acceleration due to gravity.
  • The line that joins the centre of the body and the earth's centre decides the direction in which the force of gravity acts. It's direction is towards the earth's center.
  • At the centre of the earth, the force of gravity is considered to be 0.
  • Only one mass is required for the force of gravity.
