hastinapur palace was situated in hastinapur which is now called merut . in starting it was ruled by maharaj shantanu and then his sons and after it was ruled by pandu when pandu died it was ruled by elder brother of pandu who was dhritarasht he was blind he wants that his son should be the new ruler of Hastinapur after him but for that his son should be elder than the son of Pandu but it was not like this so pandu's elder son who was yudhishthir then he became the ruler because elder son of dhritarasht was smaller than yudhishthir. elder son of dhritarasht was jealous of yudhishthir so he decided to burn the place where yudhisthira and his family was living but they were safe and they act like that they are dead to gain power then when the time it was decided to make new Prince of Hastinapur which was was Duryodhan the eldest son of of interest but then yudhistira and his family came back to Hastinapur So he decided to do equality so he divided Hastinapur between Yudhisthir and Duryodhan but then Duryodhan wants more than him so he decided that you're the state should get the Indraprastha now a days called Delhi in at that time in depressed was very on fertile land to build anything on it so Arjun the third son of Pandu called Indra so she can fertile the land and then Indira made the land very fertile and more beautiful than Hastinapur and he also given a Palace which was called the palace of illusion and it was more nice then the palace of Hastinapur which make illusionary the eyes of the people and people comes in that illusion
