What is the difference between himadri ranges and shivalik ranges ?

1. Himadri or Greater Himalayas comprises all major mountain ranges of the Himalayas.

2. It is the highest, largest and longest amongst the four parallel ranges of the Himalayas.

3. Mt. Everest (8,852 m), the highest peak, Kanchenjungha, the third highest peak, Nanga Parbat, the ninth highest peak of the world, and the Zaskar Range are in this region.

While the Siwalik Range                                

1. Is a mountain range of the outer Himalayas also known as Manak Parbat.

2. It is about 2,400 km long and its width varies from 10

 to 50 km.

3. Their average elevation is 1,500 to 2,000 m.
