Answer:

Difference between republic day and independence day :

On Independence Day India become independent from the British rule, that is on 15th august 1947 . So 15th august is celebrated as independence day .

Where as it comes to Republic Day, India was declared as republic and constitution were founded on 26th January 1952. So 26th January is celebrated as Republic Day.

So if you notice India became independent in 1947 but it became republic or the constitution was found in 1952, so there is a difference of five years in between them.

Now on independence day we actually salute and remember those people who sacrificed their time, effort and lives for the independence of India. Such as: Bhagat Singh, Gandhi Ji, Netaji Subhash Chandra bose and many others freedom fighter. So this is a day to remember the freedom struggle of India.

Republic day on the other hand honers the citizens who hold the power of a republic nation .

When it comes to celebration both the days are celebrated differently,

On Independence Day it is celebrated with flag hosting, parade, cultural performances, performances highlighting national struggle and others.

On republic day it’s majorly, a show of might by the armed forces along with the flag hosting, so on this day you will be able to see a lot of tanker, missiles and many national defence systems in the parade.

These are the some major difference between Independence day and Republic day.

Hope it helps
