Ionic bonds are formed when elements in left hand side combines with the elements in right hand side of periodic table and bond is formed by sharing atoms.
Covalent bond is formed when an element in the left side or right side of the periodic table combines with the element on the same side here the bond is formed by mutually sharing the atoms.
