Linear motion refers to a motion in astraight path whereas circular motionrefers to motion in a circular path. ... But in circular motion the person will always experience acceleration because direction of the person is always changing. Example of linear motion - a car moving in a straight road.

Linear Motion: Velocity is constant & thus it is a uniform motion. Acceleration is zero. Uniform Circular Motion: Velocity is not constant due to continuous change in Direction & thus it is not a uniform motion.
