what is the difference between local self Government and local government ?​

Local self govt. manages the local affairs of the natives of the area through its representatives or by itself. It is considered as a democratic body in the real sense. It consists of Sarpanch, gram panchayat etc.

Local govt. administers the locality wherein the officials are appointed by state. They are entitled to salary. It consists of district collector, district magistrate etc.
