Those elements which have the tendency of donating electrons, and have some special qualities such as malleability, ductileness, metallic lusture and electric conductance are called Metals.
Example=> Iron, Gold, Silver etc.
Those elements which have the tendency of receiving electrons and do not have physical properties like metals are called Non-Metals.
Example=> Nitrogen, Sulphur, Chlorine etc.

▪️They are hard.
▪️They are solid at room temperature.
▪️They have high density.
▪️They hav high melting and boiling point.
Examples :−
- Copper, Aluminium, Calcium, Magnesium, Iron,etc.

▪️They are poor/bad conductors of heat and electricity.
▪️They are not sonorous.
▪️They are dull.
▪️They are soft.
▪️It may be solid,liquid or gas.
▪️They have low density.
▪️They have low melting and boiling point.
Examples :−
