By - Elections are held if a few seats in lok sabha or Vidhan sabhas fall empty without finishing the term due to:

- The sitting MLA or MP diedies without finishing his/her term.

- The sitting MLA/MP leaves from his/her seat.

- The sitting MLA/MP is precluded from holding the seat because of any lawfulness.

- The sitting MLA/MP leaves in the event that he has battled another race or battled from two unique seats and won both.

Mid-term elections are held for the full house, not a few seats due to:

- Sitting government is expelled by President/senator.

- Sitting govt leaves from the house for any reason.

- Sitting government neglects to demonstrate its greater part and no other choice is accessible which can do as such.
