The difference between Municipal Council and Municipal Corporation with answers according to class 6 are as under:

  1. Municipal Corporation is the local self-government for the large towns whereas Municipal council is the local self-government for small cities.
  2. Mostly the municipal corporation is established in towns with a population over 100000 whereas the municipal council is established for towns with a population of 25000 to 100000.
  3. Municipal corporatyion is also known as Mahanagar palika whereas municipal council is called as nagar palika.
  4. Examples of a municipal corporation are Pune, Lucknow whereas examples of the municipal council are Narnaul, Sirsa.
