National Archives of India holds the historic records of the Government of India. It is a repository of records which are used by scholars, administrators and historians. The National Archives of India was founded in 1891, and comes under the Ministry of Culture.

The National Museum of India has on display and in storage, some 200,000 pieces of art work, spanning a period of 5,000 years. Modern works of art, as well as articles from the pre-historic era, are on display at the National Museum of India.
