Nerves are found in the peripheral nervous system, while neurons are found in the brain, spinal cord and the peripheral nerves. 4.A neuron can also be called a neurone or a nerve cell. 5.Neurons conduct nerve impulses, while nerves transmit information to various parts of the body.

A neuron is a cell, responsible for the generation and transmission of neuronal impulses (action potentials), production of neurotransmitters and, sometimes, for detecting internal and external signals (like touch).

A nerve is a bunch of axons, which are part of neurons. Several axons are "packed" together in the structure that we call nerve, that directs them to areas outside or inside the brain, in order to connect the nervous system with the body. Nerves are responsible for the conduction of action potentials from the neurons to the target cells, that can be other neurons or other type of cells.
