What is the difference between old fallow land and current fallow land

Old fallow land means the land which was unfit for cultivation in terms of fertility, water holding capacity etc. It is no longer used for cultivation.
Current fallow means the land on which the cultivation is being done for the last times and soon the land will too be counted as barren...

current fallow is land that has been left cultivated one year. this is usually done so that the soil can accumulated human which improves that land fertility. old fallow includes land that has been left uncultivated for more than a year. if old land is not brought under it is counted as barren land. about 8% of India land is fallow
