here's the diagram..
The main difference between seriesand parallel circuits is that, in seriescircuits, all components are connected in series so that they all share the same current whereas, in parallelcircuits, components are connected inparallel so that they all have the same potential difference between them.

If all of the current leaving one resistor enters another resistor, the two resistors are in series.
