Answer:

Differences between Periodic Motion & Circular Motion

Explanation:

Periodic Motion : A motion repeating itself at regular intervals is regarded as periodic motion . In simpler words , A motion that repeats itself after equal intervals of time is known as periodic motion .  Periodic motion is when the motion of an object continually repeats itself , such as repeatedly moving back and forth or moving in a circular orbit . The Law of Inertia states that an object moves in a straight line unless acted upon by a force , so periodic motion requires force to create this special type of motion .

Circular Motion : Circular motion is a movement of an object along the circumference of a circle or rotation along a circular path . It can be uniform , with constant angular rate of rotation and constant speed , or non-uniform with a changing rate of rotation . The motion of an object is said to be circular if it moves in a way that its distance from the center point always remains the same .

Explanation:

● Periodic motion means motion of particle between two points in back and forth manner.

Example- Pendulum

● Circular motion is the motion of a particle in a path in circular revolutions.

Example- Moving fan blades

◇ Circular motion can be considered as periodic, as it involves back and forth between points. But every periodic motion can't be circular, as for circular motion needs to be revolutionary in circular path.
