Ball and socket joint- In this joint the rounded end of one bone fits into the cavity (hollow space) of another bone.This type of bone allows movement in all directions.

Eg: Shoulder joint ans hip joint.We can rotate our arms and legs due to the ball and socket joint.

Pivotal joint-Such joints allow only rotation.The joint where our neck joins the head is a pivotal joint.It allows the head to move backward and forward and to our left and right.The head rotates over a cylindrical bone of the neck.
