potential- it is the source that has been recognized but are not yet practised due to the shortage of availability of technology.

resource- it is source which have been recognized and are completely maintained for present and future application.

reserves- although we have technology to extract these resources but we are not extracting them in present.

stock- this are the resources for which we have no technology to extract.
