The difference between print selection and print custom range option

  • Microsoft Word allows you to print only the sections you want from a document instead of the entire thing. The document's section you want to print should be selected. You cannot print separated selections in Word (made using the Ctrl key). Choose Print Selection from the Settings list under File | Print (or Ctrl + P).
  • The option to select Print Custom Range will be available as soon as you begin typing in the Pages field. You would enter P4S1-P2S2 in the Pages field to print pages 4–7. Print "Page 4 Section 1 to Page 2 of Section 2," in order to understand what this implies. By the way, print custom range does not take case into account.
  • the Print option under File > Print. Choose Current Selection under Print Choices to print just the region you've chosen. Choose Print if the print preview shows what you want printed.
  • Choose Custom Print and type the first and last page numbers in the Pages box to print consecutive pages, such as 1 through 3. Choose Custom Print and enter the page numbers and ranges separated by commas to print both individual pages and a range of pages (such as pages 3 and 4-6) at once.
