Prokaryotic cell
* absence of definite nucleus , nuclear membrane , nucleolus
* membrane bound organelles like mitochondria , endoplasmic reticulum , golgi apparatus, lysosome , chloroplasts tc are presrnt
* cell respiration is carried out by the plasma membrane
* has only a single prokaryotic chromosome located jn the cytoplasm
* dna is usually circular
* histones are absent . Hence chromosomal DNA is not complexed with them
* cytoplasmic streaming is absent
* cytoplasmic streaming is absent
* cytoplasmic micro tubules and microfilaments are absent
Eukaryotic cell
*a well defined nucleus bounded by nuclear membrane and also nucleolus is present
* presence of membrane bound organelles
* cell respiration by mitochondria
* has many chromosomes enclosed with in nucleus
* DNA is linear
* histones are present. So chromosomal DNA is complexed with histones
* cytoplasmic streaming is present
* micro tubules and microfilaments are present
