Psychiatrist are trained medical doctors, they can prescribe medications, and they spend much of their time with patients on medication management as a course of treatment. Psychologist focus extensively on psychotherapy and treating emotional and mental suffering in patients with behavioral intervention.

3) Psychiatrists are trained to treat serious mental illness while psychologists are trained to treat less serious conditions, they just give some basic advices to help the patient to recover from the illness.
4) A psychiatrist treats illness like major depression, schizophrenia, etc while a psychologist treats illness like behavioral problems, personality issues, depression, anxiety, etc.
