what is the difference between RBC and WBC

RBC has a protein called haemoglobin which is in red colour so it is known as erythrocytes. WBC are white in colour so it is known as leukocytes. The life span of RBC is 120 days The life span of WBC is 7 days.

RBC : The function of RBC is to carry oxygen from the lungs to the tissues and CO2 from the tissues to the lungs. This is due to the presence of haemoglobin.
WBC : Their no. is much less than RBC .WBC provides defence mechanism to the body against infection.
