Reversible process as the name suggest itself the process can be reversed while performing the reaction continuously at equilibrium so that the energy from work performed by or on the system would be maximized, and that from heat would be minimized, heat cannot fully be converted to work and will always be lost to some degree.
A process that is not reversible is simply called as a irreversible process that is the process cannot return back to its original condition.
