Zero of a polynomial is a solution to the polynomial equation, P(x) = 0 BUT

Root of a polynomial is that value of x that makes the polynomial equal to 0.

The zero of the function f(x)=x+1 is -1.

The root of the equation x+1=0 is -1.

i had the same doubt when I had come across them for the first time. They are basically the same thing. Don't stress yourself over their difference. You can use either of them. You won't lose any mark.
