Hii friend,
ROTATION
The earth takes twenty four hours to complete one rotation on its axis, which is tilted at 23.5° from the vertical.
Each rotation causes one complete day and night. As the earth turns eastward, the sun ‘rises’ in the east. The part of the earth facing the sun experiences day, whole the other part, which is away from the sun, is in complete darkness and, thus, experiences night.
The rotation of the earth influences the ocean currents.
REVOLUTION
The earth goes round the sun in an elliptical orbit. One revolution takes 365¼ days, or one year.
The earth is closest to the sun in early January each year. This is known as the ‘perihelion’. The earth is furthest from the sun in early July each year. This is known as the ‘aphelion’. The exact dates of perihelion and aphelion vary each year.
Just like the earth, the other planets in our solar system also orbit the sun. The time taken and distance covered by these planets as they revolve around the sun depend on their distance from the sun.
hope this helps u and u understand......................

rotation is the spinning of heavenly bodies on their own axis, which is an imaginary line passing through their center.
rotation of earth causes day and night
example:- spinning of earth and moon along their axis.
revolution is the movement of a heavenly body around another in a fixed path called orbit.
revolution of earth causes change in season.
example:- movement of earth around sun, movement of moon around earth.
