Answer: Rusting is the chemical reaction of iron with oxygen andmoisture in the air. Galvanization is a method to prevent rusting by coating it with a layer of zinc.  Explanation: As zinc is not reactive to oxygen or moisture (water), the layer of zinc avoids direct contact of air and mositure with iron on which zinc is coated, thus preventing rusting. Chemical formula of rusting: Fe + O2 + H2O= Fe2O3
