what is the difference between sludge and activated sludge?

Primary sluge or sluge ;- it includes all solid substances which is got settled after the primary treatment

Activated sluge ;- it is sediment formed from effluent after secondary treatment

ALL SOLIDS THAT SETTLE DOWN DURING PRUMARY TREATMENTS IS CALLED PRIMARY SLUDGE.

ACTIVATED SLUDGE IS THE RESIDUE SEDIMENT LEFT AFTER SECONDARY TREATMENTS.
