Social division refers to the division of the society on the basis of the overlapping of a social differences like colour, race, caste, religion e.t.c. It also involves regional and linguistic diversity. While social differences are the situation in which masses are discriminated on the basis of economic, racial and social inequality they give way to social division when one such social difference overlaps with another like the differences in the economic condition or education.

Origin of social differences:

1.Most of the social differences originate by birth such as differences in colour, sex or religion. We all come to know about social differences that are based on birth in our day to day life.

2. Some of the differences are an outcome of our choices like the education or occupation we opt for or sometimes a different religion that we choose.
