What is the difference between speed and average speed? Are there any separate formulas and units for them?

speed: the rate at which someone or something moves or operates or is able to move or operate.
The average speed of an object in an interval of time is the distance travelled by the object divided by the duration of the interval; the instantaneous speed is the limit of the average speed as the duration of the time interval approaches zero.

Sped and average speed both are different. Speed is used when the ratio of distance and time are same throughout the journey. It's formula is DISTANCE/TIME. Whereas average speed is used when the ratio of displacement and time that Is speeds are different at different points of journey. It's formula is (speed in the beginning + speed in the end) / 2. The units of both are same, that is m/s ( meters per second)

Can we find out the average speeds of three or more speeds?
