magnitude simply means size while velocity refers to a specific property I suspect u want to know the difference between speed and velocity .speed is a measure of rate at which something changes displacement it is a scaler quantity ,meaning it is measured only in magnitude ( size)

the numerical value of a quantity is termed as magnitude whereas speed is the distance covered by an object in given time 't'.
for example, if distance covered by an object is 50 metres in time 10 seconds, then speed = distance/time i.e. 50/10=5 m/s
here 5m/s is the magnitude(numerical value) of speed.
