Fragmentation

It is a form of asexual reproduction in which an entirely new organism is formed from a fragment of the parent. It occurs in multicellular organisms, whose body organization is fairly simple such as annelids, starfish, fungi, lichens, and some algae such as spirogyra. The filaments of spirogyra, upon maturation, break into small pieces or fragments, which grow into new individuals.

Spore formation

In fungi, some specialized hyphae give rise to a globular structure known as sporangia, which contains spores. The sporangia burst to release spores.

Each of these spores germinates to produce a new individual.

Since the spores disperse through air, they can land on various sites. These sites may be favourable or unfavourable.

During unfavourable conditions, these spores are protected by their thick walls until they come in contact with some favourable conditions.

Answer:

Fragmentation:

It means when a plant breaks down into several fragments and reproduces. It is a type of asexual reproduction. Eg: Alga

Spore Formation:

This is another means of asexual reproduction. in this small pores are formed in the plants and then these are dispersed and they grow into plants. Eg: Fern
