Synapsis the term comes up in CELL CYCLE especially in the Meiosis 1 . In the prophase -Zygotene : the homologous chromosomes pair up forming the synaptonemal complex. This process is called synapsis .

Synapse The term comes up in relation to neurons .The signal send across an axon jumps into adjacent dendron through a synaptic cleft .The synapse is a structure which permits the transfer of  chemical transmittors (Eg : Acetylcholine , GABA , Dopamine ) from the synaptic vesicles to the receptors present in the dendron of the adjacent neuron .

Synapsis is a word for the association of similar chromosomes often found in the first meiotic prophase. (Meiosis is the splitting of a cell into four daughter cells which each have half the chromosomes as the parent cell.) Asynapse is the space between nerve cells where signals pass from one to the other.
