Average can simply be defined as the sum of all the numbers divided by the total number of values.Average is usually present as meanor arithmetic mean. Mean is simply a method of describing the averageof the sample. ... The arithmetic mean is considered as a form ofaverage.

Arithmetic mean=sum of observations ÷no.of observations.

Average=sum of observations ÷2

That's the difference !

Example: 1,2,3,4,5

Arthmetic mean=15÷5=5

Average=15÷2=7.5
