What is the difference between the following: Stalactite - Stalagmite.

Stalagmite and stalactites are pointed cone-shaped structures formed due to the dripping of mineral-rich water from the ceiling of the cave for many years. The mineral deposits from the water accumulate to form these structures.

Stalactites are formed on the ceiling of the cave by dripping of mineral-rich water. The tip of the stalactites points downward. On the other side, stalagmites are formed on the ground of the cave by the accumulation of the mineral-rich water on the ground that is dripping from the ceiling. The tip of the stalagmites points upward.
