what is the difference between the (+) sign and (.) sign

please explain totally​

Explanation:

+ sign is used to denote two chemicals addead together. in your equation this means that water is added to sodium carbonate which gives washing soda

Now (.) sign means that water is attached ti na2co3 physically and not chemically if you heat Na2CO3.10H2O then 10H2O will evaporate leaving behind soda ash

On the contrary if (.)sign was not present then it would signofy that water molecule is connected chemically and heating the compund would not help deatacth it.
