The history of the legitimate legal profession in India is begun at the First British Court in Bombay in 1672 by Governor Aungier.
The affirmation of lawyers was done in the hands of the Governor-in-Council and not by the Court.
There will be no lawful professionals previously the foundation of the Mayor's Courts in 1726 in Madras and Calcutta.
The Indian Bar Councils Act, 1926 was passed for unifying the various grades of the legal practice.
It will provide self-government to the Bars which have been attached to the various Courts.
