The difference between sea salt and table salt are in their taste, texture and processsing.Sea salt is produced through evaporation of ocean water or water from salt water lakes, usually with little processing .Depending on water sources, this leaves behind certain trace and elements.

Salt that is used in the food is known by many names. Table salt, common salt and refined salt are the common names.

In addition there are other names for edible salt that mainly contains NaCl, like Himalyan salt, sea salt, pink salt, sendha namak etc.

There is actually no difference in the two either of them may be used to refer salt we use in our food.

Salt that is used for cooking mostly is refined salt obtained after processing the salt found in natural form like sea salt or rock salt. After refinement it becomes crystals of the NaCl and is almost 100% pure. Anti caking agents are added to check it from moisture and it can also be fortified with other nutrients. Adding iodine is very common to overcome its deficiency in India.
